Meet Jennifer, POMA Owner & Instructor

Meet Kayla, POMA Kids & Teens Owner & Instructor

Jennifer is the owner and instructor of POMA. Jennifer started POMA (Piece of My Art) in 2004 and taught kids, teens, and adults for 16 years. Now, Jen focuses on her weekly adult weekly class and private events.

Jennifer is largely self-taught, although she continues to expand her skills in taking classes with her favorite seasoned artists throughout the country. Her exhibits include painting six public fiberglass statues throughout local municipalities, including one at the Big E, and in FLA, as well as an exhibit at MASS General Cancer Center, and a permanent display at the Log Cabin & Delaney House. She has also done many commissioned pieces over the years.

Painting and drawing are her deepest passions, next to bringing out or helping to develop her students' skills, to the point of some becoming professional artists themselves! It makes her feel so good to work with a complete beginner and prove to them that they have skills just waiting to be honed!

Meet Kayla, POMA Kids & Teens Owner & Instructor

Kayla joined into the POMA Studio as an instructor in 2020, opening up under the name POMA Kids & Teens Studio.

A Westfield native and former POMA kid herself, she now holds her Master's degree in Art Education and is a licensed, PK-12 Visual Arts teacher in Massachusetts, currently working in Westfield Public Schools.

Kayla loves to work in a variety of media, and is currently exploring paper sculpture, fiber arts, and pottery, though her biggest love will always be charcoal drawing.

Through her classes, Kayla encourages students to do the same, as they build their art skills and begin to develop their own personal style.

Kayla is honored to continue the POMA legacy created by Jen, and she cannot wait to meet you!
